Raiders Defeat Chargers 35-27 Behind Balanced All-Around Effort

The Oakland Raiders snapped an ugly 13-game losing streak to the San Diego Chargers and pulled off the victory in an entertaining affair Sunday afternoon. The game was back and forth all day long before the Raiders finished strong in the fourth quarter.

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) – Michael Bush scored the go-ahead touchdown with 3:39 remaining and Tyvon Branch sealed the victory with a 64-yard fumble return for a score, as the Oakland Raiders snapped a 13-game losing streak to the San Diego Chargers with a 35-27 win.

Bush carried the ball 26 times for 104 yards for Oakland (2-3), which beat San Diego for the first time since September 28, 2003.

Jason Campbell completed 13-of-18 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown in relief of Bruce Gradkowski, who left the game with a bruised right shoulder. Zach Miller hauled in six passes for 62 yards and a score.

Oakland also became the 10th team since the merger to block two punts in the same game. The last club with two blocked punts in one game was Chicago on December 23, 2007, against Green Bay’s Jon Ryan.

Philip Rivers connected on 27-of-42 passes for 431 yards and two touchdowns for the Chargers (2-3), who were coming off a 41-10 victory over Arizona last weekend.

Malcom Floyd had a career day, catching eight passes for 213 yards and a score. Antonio Gates hauled in five passes for 92 yards and a touchdown.
