Athletics Vs. Red Sox Final Score: Oakland Stretches Win Streak To 9 WIth 6-2 Win

The Oakland Athletics are showing no signs of slowing down. On Sunday, they completed their sweep of the Boston Red Sox with ease in a 6-2 victory and have stretched their winning streak to nine straight games.

The A's scored all six of their runs in the first four innings, all off of starter Daisuke Matsuzaka. Coco Crisp walked to lead off the first inning and Seth Smith followed up with his 13th home run of the year to stake Oakland to a quick 2-0 lead. Stephen Drew added a solo home run in the second to make it 3-0.

Josh Reddick hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning to stretch the lead to 4-0 and Drew added an RBI single with two outs to make it 5-0. Yoenis Cespedes brought the final Oakland run home in the fourth inning with an RBI groundout.

Cody Ross finally got the Red Sox on the board in the sixth inning with a two-out RBI single off of Brett Anderson,who improved to 3-0 with six strong innings, allowing one run on five hits and a walk, while striking out four.

Mauro Gomez managed a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to get Boston one run closer, but that would be the last gasp for the Red Sox.

The A's will host the Los Angeles Angels for a massive series beginning on Monday.
