The Oakland Athletics are coming off two big series wins and are firmly in control of the top spot in the American League Wild Card chase. The A's are about to start a very difficult road series, however, as they take on some extremely tough teams who are also trying to make the playoffs.
First up is a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers that begins on Tuesday. The A's will try to pick up some important wins while trying to play the spoiler against Detroit, which is currently chasing the Chicago White Sox for control of the American League Central.

Tuesday's game will begin at 4:05 p.m. PT and will be televised on CSN California and MLB Network. You can catch the radio broadcast on 95.7 FM The Game. A.J. Griffin is a perfect 6-0 this season with a 1.94 ERA, but he will face his toughest challenge yet. The Tigers will start Max Scherzer, who is currently 16-6 with a 3.77 ERA.
Wednesday's first pitch will be at 4:05 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on CSN California and ESPN. You can catch the radio broadcast on 95.7 FM The Game. Brett Anderson is 4-1 since coming off the disabled list and is just coming off his first loss. He'll have to pitch opposite reigning Cy Young and AL MVP winner Justin Verlander, who enters the game with a 14-8 record and 2.82 ERA.
Thursday's finale will get started at 10:05 a.m. PT and will not be televised locally. You can catch the radio broadcast on 95.7 FM The Game. Tom Milone will get the start for Oakland and try for his 14th win. His opponent will be Anibal Sanchez, who is 3-5 with a 4.19 ERA since coming to the Tigers from the Miami Marlins.
