A.J. Griffin has left Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with tightness in his left shoulder, as per a report from the team's official Twitter. That only adds to the strain on Oakland's bullpen, who already took the team through a 15 inning game on Friday. Griffin threw just 32 pitches over 1 2/3 innings.
He was relieved by Jordan Norberto, who did not pitch in Friday's game. Norberto's longest outing of the year was 2 1/3 innings on July 22 in a 5-4 win over the New York Yankees. Travis Blackley, the team's long reliever who they would normally turn to in such a situation, pitched three innings on Friday and is thought to be unavailable.
