The Oakland Athletics have added another right-hander to their bullpen on Friday as they have acquired Jesse Chavez from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations, according to CSN Bay Area's Casey Pratt.
Chavez has seen action in just nine games for the Blue Jays this year, starting two of them. He posted a 1-1 record with a whopping 8.44 ERA in 21.1 innings pitched, allowing 25 hits and 22 runs over that span. His lone win came in his last outing on August 4, tossing one inning of scoreless ball in a 3-1 win against these Athletics.
Chavez started 17 games for Triple-A Las Vegas this year as well, earning a 8-5 mark with a 3.98 ERA and an impressive 20/86 BB/K ratio. Oakland marks the fifth team he has played for in four years of major league service.
