The Oakland Athletics are still keeping pace in the American League West and remain in the thick of the Wild Card chase. They are coming off a series win over the Minnesota Twins and will try to capture at least two of three as they visit the Tampa Bay Rays beginning on Thursday.
The Rays will be the toughest opponent the A's have faced in a couple of weeks. This could very well end up being a preview of the coming playoffs.
