Athletics Vs. Yankees Final Score: Jarrod Parker Twirls Gem in 2-1 Win

The Oakland Athletics were hoping to keep their ultra-hot streak alive on Saturday against the New York Yankees at the O.co Coliseum. That's exactly what they did, as they came out on top of a pitchers' duel by a final score of 2-1 to take the first three games of a four-game series.

In the top of the fourth inning, Raul Ibanez got the scoring started as he hit an RBI single that plated Alex Rodriguez. The 1-0 Yankees lead did not last long, as Yoenis Cespedes tied things up in the bottom of the fourth with his 13th home run of the year.

Yankees starter Phil Hughes and Oakland starter Jarrod Parker kept dueling into the bottom of the eighth, when Brandon Inge managed to break the tie with another solo home run that have the A's the lead.

Parker held the Yankees to just one run on five hits and a walk through eight innings of work. Hughes held the A's to only four hits and two walks, with the two home runs the only extra-base hits from Oakland batters. Sean Doolittle gave up a hit and allowed a stolen base in the ninth, but struck out the side to get the save.

The A's will go for the sweep on Sunday.
