Athletics Vs. Twins Final Score: Oakland Bashes Their Way To Sweep After 9-4 Victory

The Oakland Athletics managed to start their second half with a big sweep of the Minnesota Twins. On Sunday, the A's once again decisively defeated the Twins at Target Field by a final score of 9-4.

The A's got the scoring started in the top of the first, thanks to an RBI single by Yoenis Cespedes and a bases-loaded Derek Norris walk that made it a quick 2-0 in favor of Oakland. The Twins scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the inning to cut the led in half, but Jonny Gomes, Cespedes and Chris Carter all went yard in the top of the second to make it 6-1 A's.

The Twins picked up a second run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second, but the score would stay at 6-2 until the sixth inning, when Oakland was able to tack on another three runs on a Seth Smith homer, another Cespedes RBI single and a wild pitch.

The Twins picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth, but were unable to get any closer than 9-4.
