One night after Jarrod Parker nearly no-hit the Texas Rangers and the Oakland Athletics put up a dozen runs in a decisive victory, the hometown team was not so lucky. The A's dropped Tuesday night's game by a final score of 6-3 ad the Rangers evened up their current four-game series at one win apiece.
The Rangers got on top early, putting up three runs in the top of the third on RBI doubles by Ian Kinsler and Josh Hamilton. Yorvit Torrealba made it 4-0 Rangers with a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth and the visitors stretched it all the way out to 5-0 in the top of the fifth on an RBI triple by Michael Young.
Collin Cowgill hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to get the A's on the board and Yoenis Cespedes closed the gap to 5-3 by leading off the bottom of the sixth with his sixth home run of the season. Elvis Andrus hit an RBI single in the top of the ninth and the A's went quietly in the bottom half of the frame.
Cespedes and Kurt Suzuki each had two hits in the game.
