In his latest mock draft at Baseball Prospectus, Kevin Goldstein has the Oakland Athletics selecting Michael Wacha, a right handed pitcher out of Texas A&M.

The A's would like something to fall in their laps, especially [Max] Fried or even the possibility of [Kyle] Zimmer. They like some of the high school bats, especially the power of Joey Gallo, but Wacha provides a nice combination of safety and upside with a high floor and some ceiling.

John Sickels at SB Nation's Minor League Ball has Wacha listed as the 11th best prospect in the 2012 MLB Draft, commenting "I think [Marcus] Stroman has better stuff but there's nothing wrong with Wacha, who could move very quickly into a major league rotation."

Max Fried is a lefthander ranked eighth by Minor League Ball, Zimmer is a righthander they rank second overall, and Stroman is a righthander they rank directly above Wacha at 10th.
