Athletics Vs. Rays, Game 3 Final Score: Oakland Takes Series With 9-5 Win

On Sunday, the Oakland Athletics watched their offense come alive in Tropicana Field. The A's won the rubber match of a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays with a dominating 9-5 win.

The Rays piled on four runs in the bottom of the first inning against starter Tom Milone on a sacrifice fly and a pair of RBI singles, but the A's answered back with a five-run top of the third. Yoenis Cespedes and Jonny Gomes hit RBI singles before Brandon Inge blasted a three-run homer to give the A's the lead.

The A's would tack on another three runs in the top of the fifth inning on RBI doubles by Gomes and Daric Barton. The Rays got one of those runs back in the bottom of the frame on a B.J. Upton home run, but that was the last run the Rays would score against Oakland.

Oakland's final run came in the top of the seventh inning, when Inge hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Josh Reddick. Inge finished the game 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and four RBI.

Milone allowed all five Tampa Bay runs in five innings of work but picked up the win to improve to 4-2.
