After his torrid start to his tenure with the Oakland Athletics, veteran third baseman Brandon Inge will unfortunately have to be put up on the shelf after his groin injury was no progressing the way the team had hoped.
Inge has launched five homers and 17 RBI's in the 11 games since joining the Athletics, but after trying some running on Wednesday before the game Inge knew it wasn't getting better, needing some time off to get it right.
Inge will shut things down for a few days to completely heal. Says he's obviously frustrated but knows DL is the right move.

Inge eligible to return May 28, 2 days before Manny arrives. With Coco/Cespedes also out, Inge says, "It's the calm before the storm maybe."

The A's will need to keep their head above the water until all their players come back, but could be setting themselves up for a great summer run once everyone is healthy.
