Manny Ramirez To Begin Rehab Assignment With Sacramento River Cats

Manny Ramirez is nearing a return to baseball. After surprisingly signing with the Oakland Athletics in the offseason, the former slugger had to serve a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. Ramirez plans to possibly play DH for the A's once he is eligible to play, but he will need a rehab assignment in order to get ready for the challenge of Major League pitching.

On Friday, Man-Ram will take his talents to the Sacramento River Cats. Get ready for some fun.

Ramirez is scheduled to report and workout with the team on Friday, and assuming everything goes alright, he will be inserted into the lineup on the evening of Saturday, May 19. That game is scheduled to begin at 6:05 from Isotopes Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Looking to catch Manny play in Sacramento? You're in luck. On May 27 (Sunday) and May 28, special ticket packages will be sold by the River Cats. Check out their official website for complete details.

Get ready for a little Manny Ramirez, folks. If the past decade tells us anything it's to expect the unexpected.
