The Oakland Athletics are attempting to even the score with the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners took three of four games from the A's in their home opener (okay, okay, one of those losses was in Japan, but still) and now Oakland has a chance to take the series in Seattle's home opener.
The two teams have exchanged 4-0 shutouts in the first two games of the series. In Sunday's rubber match, Graham Godfrey will try to even out his 0-1 record and get the 4-5 A's back to .500 on the season. The game begins at 1:10 p.m. PT and will air on CSN-California.
Cliff Pennington was the only A's hitter to collect two hits on Saturday night. He has been moved up in the order from ninth to sixth. Designated hitter Seth Smith will now hit third, ahead of Yoenis Cespedes, who was hitless on Saturday, but had his first game of the season without a strikeout.
