The Oakland A's regular season has officially begun, but they'll go back to playing exhibition games before their regular season begins again on United States soil.
After splitting a short two-game series with the Seattle Mariners in Japan on Wednesday and Thursday, Oakland returns to action on Monday April 2nd in a game at AT&T Park against National League rivals, the San Francisco Giants. The Giants will then make a short trip to Oakland on Tuesday April 3rd for a game at the Coliseum.
Finally, the third game of the series on Wednesday April 4th will be played at AT&T Park again. Since all games in this series are exhibition games, they will not count towards either of the team's regular season records.
The two-game series in Japan a week before every other team's opening days has created a weird situation for some ball clubs — with this being one of those weird situations.
The Seattle Mariners will also play five games in Arizona before resuming their regular season on Friday, April 6th in a game against none other than the Oakland Athletics.
