The Oakland Athletics saw themselves fairly brutalized in their first Spring Training game on Friday. The Seattle Mariners bashed five home runs in the game and won by a final score of 8-5. The A's will have a chance to get the win back on Saturday and have already released their lineup for the game.

1. Jemile Weeks - 2B
2. Collin Cowgill - CF
3. Seth Smith - LF
4. Jonny Gomes - DH
5. Kila Ka'aihue - 1B
6. Josh Donaldson - 3B
7. Michael Taylor - RF
8. Anthony Recker - C
9. Eric Sogard - SS
Looking at the lineup, that seems like a surprisingly solid heart of the order. I was impressed with Cowgill last season, Smith and Gomes have plenty of power and Ka'aihue has the potential to be a good number-five hitter. We will have to wait and see how well this lineup produces tomorrow.
