With the signing of Yoenis Cespedes and the re-signing of Coco Crisp the Oakland Athletics have themselves a good old fashioned positional battle as to who will be take the reigns in center field this season, which CSN Bay Area's Kate Longworth dove right into at A's camp on Thursday.
Bob Melvin was sure not to get into any specifics, staying right on the surface of things when talking about the competition between Crisp and Cespedes. Melvin knows Crisp has experience in left field in his career, but also knows that he's a veteran professional that knows the outfield well at O.Co. Should be interesting to see how it pans out down the line this spring.
