Oakland Athletics Spring Training 2012: A's May Add More Players

Pitchers and catchers reported to camp for the Oakland Athletics on Saturday, but it appears that the front office is still working on moves to round out the roster as Spring Training draws near.

Jane Lee at MLB.com reported that A's manager Bob Melvin addressed the media on Saturday and said there is a "definite possibility" that the team will be adding more players prior to the Feb. 25 reporting date for position players.

"There are probably some questions I have to shy away from, based on the fact that I'm not certain we're done on what the roster is going to look like," Melvin said. "But I think we've shown this offseason that we're not afraid to make some moves."

Melvin may just be alluding to the rumors that the A's are on the verge of signing free agent slugger Manny Ramirez and reliever Koji Uehara, but given the signing of Yoenis Cespedes and the other strange offseason moves that Oakland has made, it would seem that all bets are off at the moment.
