As pitchers and catchers get ready to report in a few weeks, it is time once again for Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com to put together his annual Top 100 prospect list. This year's top prospects include Tampa Bay Rays LHP Matt Moore, Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper, Los Angeles Angels OF Mike Trout and Atlanta Braves RHP Julio Teheran.
↵As the Oakland Athletics continue their rebuilding effort, they have placed six of their minor leaguers on the list. MLB.com included three players acquired in the team's offseason moves and another three drafted by the A's. The three acquired by trade are pitchers Jarrod Parker, Brad Peacock and A.J. Cole. They are ranked No. 26, No. 75 and No. 88, respectively. The three previously drafted by the A's are pitcher Sonny Gray (2011) and outfielders Michael Choice (2010) and Grant Green (2009). They are ranked No. 85, No. 59 and No. 94, respectively.
↵Of the A's prospects, Parker and Peacock are the most likely to get significant time with the big league club in 2012. Grant Green and Michael Choice would be next on the list, although Sonny Gray debuted at Double-A and has an invite to spring training in his contract.
