A's, Ken Korach Reach Agreement On 3-Year Extension

The Oakland Athletics announced they have come to terms with Ken Korach on a three-year contract extension that will keep him as the team's lead radio play-by-play through 2014. Korach has spent sixteen seasons in the A's radio booth and six as the lead announcer. Prior to taking over he worked in the booth with the legendary Bill King and Ray Fosse in the booth, taking over when King passed away.

Korach will maintain the lead role as the A's head into their second season on 95.7 The Game and the A's Radio Network. The A's have bounced around radio stations in recent years, but 95.7 might finally provide a chance for the A's to get some more consistent coverage in the never-ending battle with Giants coverage on KNBR. The Game still has a lot of work in front of it, but they appear willing to spend the money to remain competitive against KNBR. This might take a few years to figure out the direction of the battle.
