Michael Choice Continues Racking Up Big Power Numbers At Single-A Stockton

While the Oakland Athletics have struggled to get consistent offense in 2011, help could be on the way in the next year or two. A's prospect Michael Choice is currently leading the California League with 25 home runs. in 88 games, Choice has put together a respectable line of .291/.380/.571 and is currently in the midst of a 15-game hitting streak. During the streak, Choice is hitting .453 (29-for-64) with eight home runs and 18 RBIs.

Choice was the A's first round pick in the 2010 draft out out of the University of Texas-Arlington. In his first year in professional baseball, Choice put together a line of .266/.377/.587 between the A's Arizona League team and low-A Vancouver. He looked solid in spring training this year and earned a spot with the High-A Stockton Ports. His solid overall numbers are likely going to get him a ticket to Double-A Midland sometime soon. Head after the jump to watch Choice taking batting practice.
