Athletics vs. Angels, Starting Lineups: A's Add Eric Sogard For Doubleheader

The Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels will spend Saturday engaging in the famed Ernie Banks expression, “Let’s Play Two.” The A’s and Angels meet in an old school double-header with the first game at 1:05pm and the second game 35 minutes after the completion of the first. The early game will be featured on FOX while the later game will be on CSN California.

The first game will feature a marquee matchup between Trevor Cahill and Jered Weaver. The A’s have had some decent numbers at home against Weaver over the years. For his career, Weaver is 2-4 with a 4.18 ERA and 1.23 WHIP at the O.Co Coliseum. In 2010, Weaver was 0-3 with a 6.63 ERA and 1.58 WHIP at the Coliseum, so the A’s will be hoping to build on that.

The A’s made one roster move in preparation for this weekend as they sent down Chris Carter and called up infielder Eric Sogard. The PCL All Star short stop can play second and third base and will likely see some playing time during the Saturday doubleheader.
