Athletics vs. Red Sox Starting Lineup Preview: Ryan Sweeney Moved Up To Second, Daric Barton Remains Sixth

The Oakland Athletics look to salvage one game in their series with Boston as they face the Red Sox Sunday morning. The game starts at 10:35am pacific and is available on CSN California. The A’s send out Brett Anderson to face John Lackey in hopes of getting at least one game out of this series.

The A’s have had plenty of chances to snag either of the first two games of this series but have been unable to close the deal. They scored six runs in the first game and eight runs in the second game but their pitching has been the root of their problems. Given the early offensive struggles and pitching dominance, this is not a good sign as they need both to even out at some point.

The A’s continue with Daric Barton hitting sixth where he has found a decent amount of success in his career. They mix things up a bit moving Ryan Sweeney up to the second spot and David DeJesus down to the third spot. Sweeney has hit righties quite well so they have to be hoping they can benefit from that today.
