Athletics vs. White Sox: Oakland Sends Out Guillermo Moscoso Looking For Series Split

The Oakland Athletics look to secure a series split with the Chicago White Sox Sunday afternoon as Guillermo Moscoso faces off against Philip Humber. Although this ten game road trip has been far from a success, a win on Sunday would at least send the A’s home on a somewhat positive note.

The A’s lineup once again features some mixing and matching by manager Bob Melvin. He had indicated he wanted to get Hideki Matsui some time in the three spot but he’s moved him back into the cleanup role today. Ryan Sweeney gets the start in the third spot in the lineup. Melvin mentioned putting an everyday player in the spot but Sweeney doesn’t quite qualify as that so it’s hard to figure out exactly what is going on with this lineup. Maybe it’s an issue of Josh Willingham getting the day off. Once again, however, we do have Coco Crisp and Cliff Pennington hitting 1-2 and Jemile Weeks hitting ninth.
