Athletics vs. Blue Jays, Starting Lineups: Mark Ellis Sits With Ear Issue

The Oakland Athletics send out Trevor Cahill to face RIcky Romero and The Toronto Blue Jays in a late breakfast series finale. First pitch is scheduled for 9:37pm pacific as the A’s look to once again salvage a single game of a series. The A’s have struggled to a 1-4 start this season as their fielding and bullpen has left a little something to be desired.

Trevor Cahill and Ricky Romero are both making their second starts of the season. Cahill only gave up one run in his last start but a high pitch count knocked him out after 4 2/3 innings. Romero also gave up one earned run (three total runs) over 6 1/3 innings.

The A’s lineup features Andy LaRoche making his third straight start of the season, all at different positions. Mark Ellis is reportedly having a small inner ear issue and will sit out the series finale. He’s apparently experiencing some dizziness and his left ear is feeling full.
