2012 World Series Odds: San Francisco Giants, Oakland A's Sitting Middle Of The Pack

Now that the 2011 World Series has come to an end, odds for the 2012 World Series have been produced across the Internet and at casinos around the world. Bodog released their 2012 World Series odds and have installed the Philadelphia Phillies as 4/1 favorites. The Yankees (13/2) and Red Sox (8/1) are immediately behind the Phillies. The world champion St. Louis Cardinals are 14/1 and the runner-up Texas Rangers sit at 12/1.

In the Bay Area, the San Francisco Giants are currently 16/1 to win the World Series. They trail only the Phillies and Cardinals in the National League. My guess is part of that is due to the expected return of Buster Posey to the lineup. Had they not lost Buster Posey, they likely would have won the NL West.

The Oakland Athletics sit at 35/1 to win the World Series. The Rangers hold the best odds in the AL West, the Los Angeles Angels are behind them at 25/1 and the Seattle Mariners are 60/1. The A's will look to bounce back from a disappointing 2011 season in which injuries and an ineffective offense cost them a chance at AL West contention.
