Arizona Fall League: Oakland A's Prospect Michael Choice Continues Strong 2011

Oakland Athletics outfielder Michael Choice continued to show why the franchise drafted him in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft. Choice has spent the last few weeks playing in the Arizona Fall League for the Phoenix Desert Dogs. During that time he has hit .359 with five home runs and nine RBIs. His His 1.265 OPS leads the AFL and his five home runs is second in the league.

This follows a season in which Choice hit .285 with 30 home runs and 82 RBIs for the Stockton Ports. Choice spent the entire season in the California League and it will be interesting to see where he starts 2012. He will get an invite to spring training and if he starts out strong, the question might not be if he makes it to the big leagues, but when he makes it. More than likely he starts the season at Double-A Midland, but if he can dominate in spring training, he could push up the A's timetable for the young outfielder.
