A's Lose Second Straight To Rangers

Gio Gonzales pitched six decent innings, allowing two runs with two strikeouts on seven hits, including one home run in the A's 4-3 loss to the rival Rangers. He gave way to Henry Rodriguez, who allowed a run, and gave way to Michael Wuertz, who himself allowed a home run and received the loss in the A's failing effort.

Jorge Cantu drilled his first home run in a Rangers uniform to break a tie in the eighth inning, which was enough to give the Rangers the win and allow them to clinch their first AL West title since 1999.

On Sunday, the A's will look to at least even up the four-game series with two wins a piece and walk out of there with a win.
