UFC on FOX 5: Henderson vs. Diaz TV schedule, fight times

Stockton's Nate Diaz will fight for the UFC lightweight title at UFC on FOX 5 on Saturday.

Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE

Nate Diaz will fight Benson Henderson for the UFC lightweight championship in the main event of UFC on FOX 5 on Saturday.

Diaz, who is from Stockton, Calif., will be fighting for his first UFC championship. He has a career MMA record of 16-7, including 10-5 in the UFC. He's won three straight fights after returning to the lightweight division. Henderson is the reigning UFC lightweight champion and has a career MMA record of 17-2. Saturday's fight will be Henderson's second title defense. He successfully defended his championship at UFC 150 in August.

While Saturday's fight is a big opportunity for Diaz, it was almost derailed during the weigh-in on Friday. A championship fight requires fighters to weigh-in at or below the division's allotted weight, but Diaz initially weighed in at 155.6, or 0.6 above the weight limit. Diaz weighed in at 155.2 during the second attempt and it wasn't until the third attempt he hit the required 155.0 mark.

Saturday's fight will be the main event of the UFC on FOX 5 event. The event is on FOX with coverage beginning at 5 p.m. PT.
