After winning two straight games at home, the Sacramento Kings were unable to make it three in a row as they lost 103-97 to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.

After leading 28-27 after the first quarter, Sacramento fell into a hole in the second quarter. Detroit opened the second quarter on a run, building a 15-point lead. The Kings were able to cut into the lead but still trailed 58-48 at halftime. The Pistons led by 13 entering the fourth quarter but the Kings didn't go quietly.

Detroit extended its lead to 16 points with 8:19 to play, but Sacramento cut the lead to just two points with a 17-3 run. Sacramento would pull within a single point twice, but was unable to get over the final hump and take the lead back. The Pistons closed the game on a 7-2 run to seal the victory.

DeMarcus Cousins led the way for Sacramento with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Jason Thompson chipped in 16 points while Jimmer Fredette scored 14 points off the bench. The loss dropped Sacramento to 1-13 on the road this season.
