Kings vs. Suns score: Sacramento blows double-digit halftime lead, loses 101-90

The Sacramento Kings have lost five straight games after falling to the Phoenix Suns.

The Sacramento Kings blew a double-digit halftime lead, falling apart against the Phoenix Suns in the second half, losing 101-90. The Kings took a 22-16 lead in the first quarter and improved it up to 54-43 at halftime, but a 31-14 run by the Suns in the third quarter put Phoenix ahead for good. The Kings would cut into the lead several times, but never get over the hump and dropped yet another road game. Sacramento is now 1-9 away from Sleep Train Arena.

The Kings shot 41 percent and turned the ball over 16 times, wasting 18 offensive rebounds. Jimmer Fredette led the Kings with 22 points, but only played 22 minutes. Aaron Brooks scored 12 points and James Johnson added 11. DeMarcus Cousins had an awful night, shooting 1-10 from the field and finishing with nine points.

The Suns distributed 29 assists and only gave up seven turnovers. Shannon Brown shot 10-13 from the field, scoring 22 points. Jared Dudley put up 20 points, Marcin Gortat put up 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Luis Scola added 14 points and 10 assists.

The Kings have now lost five in a row, falling to 7-17 on the season. The Suns have won three in a row, improving to 10-15.
