After the Dallas Mavericks cruised to a 119-96 win against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, Dallas guard O.J. Mayo had some strong words for Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, who appeared to hit Mayo in the groin during the game.
Mayo said that Cousins has "mental issues" and went on to call the Sacramento center "immature," according to ESPN Dallas. Cousins denied that the hit was intentional, adding that there was only some trash talk involved.
Attempting to box out the smaller Mayo on a weakside rebound, Cousins' right hand appeared to jab at Mayo below the belt. After the game, Mayo said that Cousins was a talented player and a potential All-Star, but the hit "takes him down a class."
The incident was the second questionable action by Cousins this season. He received a two-game suspension earlier in the year after an alleged confrontation with San Antonio Spurs broadcaster Sean Elliott.
Cousins is averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds a game for the Kings.
