Fourth year guard Marcus Thornton scored 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting and added five rebounds and two steals to lead the Sacramento Kings past the Los Angeles Lakers, 103-98, on Friday night at the Thomas And Mack Center in Las Vegas.

DeMarcus Cousins also had a strong showing for Sacramento with 18 points, 10 rebounds and three steals on the evening. Sacramento outran the Lakers, taking the edge in fast break points by a margin of 28-10.

Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 22 points to go along with four assists and six rebounds, but it wasn't enough to propel Los Angeles to their first win of the preseason.

One bright spot for Los Angeles was the strong play of third year reserve forward Devin Ebanks, who scored 20 points on 7-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-5 from the arc, and added six rebounds and an assist in an efficient 22 minutes.

The Kings are now 3-1 in the 2012 preseason.

Los Angeles moves to 0-5 and will go for their first win of the preseason on Sunday when Dwight Howard is expected to make his much-anticipated Lakers debut as the team will have a rematch vs. the Kings at Staples Center.
