Brandon Roy Rumors: Former All-Star Guard Meets With Warriors

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, free agent guard Brandon Roy met with Golden State Warriors brass on Sunday in the Bay Area.

Roy's comeback is in full swing and he has a number of teams interested in taking a flyer on the former All-Star guard whose knees forced him into early retirement.

Now that Roy is back trying to get into the league, the Warriors offer an interesting destination. Roy was always used to having the ball in his hands while he played in Portland but pairing him in a backcourt with Stephen Curry wouldn't be a problem since you can easily move Curry off the ball due to his deadeye shooting.

With Klay Thompson also on the wing, Roy could initiate the offense and Thompson and Curry could work off the ball. All three could run various pick and rolls with David Lee which would make for a very diverse and multi-faceted offense for the Warriors.

It would make for an intriguing combination. But with the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves still vying for Roy's services, it could still be awhile before anyone hears anything from Roy or his camp on his next destination.
