2012 NBA Draft Results: Draymond Green Selected By Warriors In Second Round

There were few collegiate players in the country last season who meant more to their team than Draymond Green meant to Michigan State, and now the bulky forward will take his talents to the NBA. The Golden State Warriors selected Green with the 35th overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, making him the fifth player taken in the second round.

The Warriors have also drafted Harrison Barnes from North Carolina and Festus Ezeli from Vanderbilt.

Green was measured at 6'8 and 236lbs at the NBA combine, two numbers that are both down a bit from his days at MSU. He averaged 16.1 points and 10.4 rebounds a game last season as a senior.

He has a very high basketball IQ and will be a great teammate, but scouts worry about Green's lack of athletic ability. He will also need to improve his lateral movement if he hopes to make it on the defensive end of the court. Questions have always lingered about not having a true position on the floor, but as coaches would say, "the best players play."
