Warriors Draft Rumors: Dion Waiters Targeted If Damian Lillard Not Available

The Golden State Warriors probably need a small forward to provide more perimeter versatiltiy, and they could also use a big man with defensive capability and protection of the rim. They might end up with neither as all the best prospects could be off the board by the time they get to the seventh spot where Golden State is picking.

Golden State might also use another guard with Stephen Curry always struggling with health issues and Klay Thompson establishing himself at the two. The first possibility is Damian Lillard (probably the best point guard on the board) from Weber State, but it's likely that the Portland Trail Blazers might be locking in on him.

So who could Golden State if Lillard isn't available? Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com has this report.

Dion Waiters is a strong possibility to become the third guard behind Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as Golden State hopes Curry ditches the ankle injuries once and for all after they ruined his 2011-12. Oakland product Damian Lillard would be considered as well, but may not get there with the Blazers at No. 6 and needing a point guard. Terrence Ross is also in the mix, the Bay Area News Group reports.
