Rudy Gay Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors Could Deal David Lee, Draft Picks For Grizzlies Forward

The Memphis Grizzlies have appeared to make a conscious decision this offseason to entertain offers for their talented forward Rudy Gay. Gay had another solid season with the Grizzlies, but couldn't help lift the team over the hump against the Los Angeles Clippers and eventually bowed out in the first round. The Grizzlies are thus looking to try and get the best possible offer for Gay to see if they could find more players that would fit their system and make the team better.

Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld reports that the Golden State Warriors are one of the teams that are very interested in getting Gay.

The Golden State Warriors are desperately looking for some star power, and if they can’t land Dwight Howard they would love to have Rudy Gay. The Warriors also want to unload at least one and perhaps more of their four 2012 draft picks, and would happily package them with a combination of players – including David Lee – to make a trade happen.

Other teams that have rumored interest in Gay include the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Bobcats, and the Toronto Raptors.

The Warriors have a lot of picks they could unload to try and grab Gay, and he would instantly upgrade Golden State and give them a versatile perimeter option they've always lacked. Pair Gay with Stephen Curry and Andrew Bogut and Golden State suddenly has a foundation. The Grizzlies get another inside threat in Lee and draft picks with which to build for the future growth of the team.
