Clippers Vs. Warriors: Monta Ellis, Dorell Wright Pace W's To 97-93 Road Victory

After handling the Dallas Mavericks at home on Saturday night the Golden State Warriors headed south to take on the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples center in Los Angeles. The W's lead throughout, but a fourth quarter surge by the Clip Show made it interesting late, but Golden State would eventually prevail by the score of 97-93.

The Warriors had a 21 point lead midway through the third quarter, but the Clips started the fourth on a 20-7 run to get them back in the game. A 8-0 run by Golden State would in the final minutes would prove just enough to keep the Clippers at bay in the end.

Dorell Wright awoke from his recent offensive struggles, dropping a 20 points on the night on 7-10 shooting from the floor. Ekpe Udoh has almost been showing his improved scoring abilities with 14 points with David Lee adding 18 and ten rebounds.

Monta Ellis was the workhorse once again, scoring a team-high 21 in 43 minutes on the floor including 11 assists, while rookie Klay Thompson added 11 off the bench as well. Stephen Curry tried to play after re-tweaking his ankle last night, playing only nine minutes before coming off the floor scoring no points.

Blake Griffin and Chris Paul combined for 50 points tonight but didn't get much support from the the rest of the cast, though Randy Foye stepped up with 16 points on 5-11 shooting and Reggie Evans 11 off the bench.

The Warriors now head to Power Band Pavilion next to take on the Sacramento Kings in a Northern California showdown on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. PT.
