Warriors Vs. Kings Preview: W's Eye Third Win In A Row As Marcus Thornton Returns For Sactown

The Golden State Warriors head down to Power Band Pavilion Saturday night to take on the Northern California rival Sacramento Kings for the second time this week, trying to earn just their third road victory of the season as well as their first three game winning streak under Mark Jackson’s tutelage.

"I think (Saturday) is a big game for us, obviously," Jackson said after practice. "It’s an opportunity to win three in a row, an opportunity to continue to practice the principles we’ve laid forth and to continue to build."

With a win the team will move to 9-12, just three games under .500 while inching that much closer to a possible playoff berth. Jackson’s formula is starting to make more sense to these guys with every passing day, which they can hopefully use to keep stringing wins together.

The Warriors used the bench mob to take down the Kings on Tuesday, while the trio of starters in Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry and David Lee decimated the Utah Jazz on Thursday. Which poison will Jackson pick to use against the Kings tonight? Well, hopefully a little bit of both.

As for the Kings, you’d think they would want to play hard for Keith Smart once again, which they most certainly did on Tuesday, and the return of Marcus Thornton from injury tonight will likely give them a big boost offensively after he missed the last five games.

Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
