Monta Ellis Trade Rumors: Orlando Magic Reach Out To Warriors, According to Report

According to a report from ESPN's Chris Broussard, the Orlando Magic have reached out to the Golden State Warriors in an attempt to make a deal for guard Monta Ellis.

Broussard's sources tell him that no deal is imminent but the Magic would like Ellis on their team as a possible selling point to keep Dwight Howard from leaving instead of making a deal for their All-Star big man before the March 15 deadline.

The Warriors are willing to listen, but have little interest in the talent that the Magic currently hold (save for Howard, of course) according to sources. Orlando is holding out hope for another team getting involved, possibly the New Jersey Nets, though they have said they have no interest in a three team deal with Ellis. Another team may come out of the woodwork.

Ellis is currently the seventhly leading scorer in the league, averaging 22.2 points a game.
