Warriors vs. Mavericks, NBA Scores: Monta Ellis Scores 32, Warriors Drop Mavericks 99-92

Despite having a sprained ankle that kept him out of practice yesterday Monta Ellis still dropped 32 points for the Golden State Warriors tonight as they beat the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 99-92 at Oracle Arena. It was a close one all the way, but a great third quarter gave the W’s just enough wiggle room to get the win.

Monta scored 18 of his 32 points in the third quarter, and still managed to play 44 minutes on his sore ankle. David Lee had 16 and 8 boards, Dorell Wright had 13 and Stephen Curry had 12 and 8 assists on 3-8 shooting in only 32 minutes of play. Al Thornton made good with his 23 minutes off the bench, scoring 12 and grabbing 9 rebounds. As a team they tied the Mavs in rebounds with 43 apiece, but had 14 turnovers as well.

As for the Mavs it was their bench doing most of the significant damage tonight as Shawn Marion led their team with 21 points off the bench, Jose Barea had a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists, while Jason Terry added 17 and 5 assists. Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 on a measly 5-16 shooting tonight, though he only played 35 minutes.

Next up for the Warriors is the a trip to Portland to face the Blazers on Tuesday with tipoff set for 7 p.m. at the rose Garden with coverage on CSN Bay Plus and KNBR 680 AM. For more discussion and analysis of everything Warriors, head over to Golden State of Mind to get your fix.
