Warriors v. Mavericks, NBA Score Update: Warriors Slow Down, Lead Mavs 59-53 at Half

The Golden State Warriors were keeping the Dallas Mavericks on their toes in the first half, but some careless turnovers and second chance opportunities let them creep back into the game. Nevertheless, the W’s still hold a 59-53 lead at halftime on Bollywood night at Oracle Arena.

Dallas was simply not playing any interior defense as the Warriors were getting to the cup with ease, then they went ice cold. The W’s couldn’t hit a shot for a few minutes which lead to a 13-0 run by the Mavs, cutting the lead to 6. But the W’s maintained to the buzzer, taking that lead to the locker room.

The Warriors offense consisted mostly of 3 players; Monta Ellis had 15 points on 6-11 shooting as well as 5 rebounds and 7 assists, David Lee leads all scorers with 16, while Steph Curry had 10 and 3 assists. Andris Biedrins also has 6 points and 5 rebounds, huge numbers for him as of late. As a team the W’s shot 61% (25-41) while committing 8 turnovers that lead to 16 points for the Mavs.

Speaking of the Mavs, Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki had 13 and 5 boards while Shawn Marion added 12. They out rebounded the W’s by one (16-15) but shot only 45% (19-42) as a team.

Despite the great start the Warriors are barely hanging on to their lead, and are going to have to come out in the 3rd quarter the same way they did the 1st; tenacious and efficient.
