Warriors v. Mavericks, NBA Score Update: Warriors Ride Hot Start to 34-25 Lead After First

The Golden State Warriors hit the ground running tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, then they turned up the heat, cruising out to a 34-25 lead at Oracle Arena.

Golden State got off to a great start, going on a 10-0 run out of the gate causing the Mavs to take a very early timeout. The W’s lead by as much as 16 in the quarter, getting out in transition and forcing turnovers. Dallas didn’t get their first defensive rebound until there were 4:30 minutes left in the quarter, another great sign of the W’s tenacity tonight. David Lee and Monta Ellis lead all scorers with 10 points as well as 7 assists for Ellis and Steph Curry added 8. The Warriors shot 15-19 in that quarter, but lost their focus a bit towards the end with unforced turnovers and easy buckets for the Mavs.

Dirk Nowitzki started out cold (or Lee’s defense was that good) going 1-6 from the floor for 5 points, while Tyson Chandler and Rodrigue Beaubois added 4.

The Warriors need this win, let’s hope the can keep it up for the next 36 minutes.
