2011 NBA All Star Game: All Star Reserves To Be Announced On TNT Tonight

Tonight, the NBA will announce the all star reserves for the 2011 NBA All Star Game. The announcement will come live at 7:00pm eastern, 4:00pm pacific on TNT during an hour long edition of Inside the NBA. While the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings likely won't have any representatives this year, it still will be worth watching to see if someone like Monta Ellis or Tyreke Evans can sneak on the team. At the very least, you can watch Charles Barkley poke fun at something or other related to the NBA and the game. And if we're really lucky Tracy Morgan will make another appearance on the show.

Monta Ellis would be the odds-on favorite of all the current Bay Area basketball players to make the team, but his case has taken some hits as of late. He is currently averaging 25.1 points per game and 5.6 assists per game, and was a huge reason for the Warriors strong run a couple homestands ago. However, he has been a bit up and down the last week or two, which came during a time when the Warriors struggled as a team. The All-Star game isn't just about players on winning teams, but a losing team doesn't help.

The Kings best shot would seem to be Tyreke Evans, who is averaging 17.8 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 5.5 assists per game. However, with his numbers down as compared to last year, he's got too many guards he's battling for All Star position. With a fairly limited roster, it's not surprising he likely won't be on the team.

Although the two teams likely won't have All Star representation, make sure and check out the show at 4pm pacific. We'll have updates afterward, and you can get more info about the rest of the NBA's potential reserves at SB Nation's running stream.
