Warriors' Charlie Bell Detained For Being Drunk At A Court Hearing About Being Drunk

Apparently, Golden State Warriors guard Charlie Bell is a fan of the sauce.

↵

In his hometown of Flint, MI Thursday, Bell showed up for a court hearing about a drunken driving case legally drunk, prompting local officials to place him in a holding cell at the courthouse.

↵

Bell, 32, apparently failed a pre-scheduled alcohol assessment test before he was suposed to see the judge, showing his blood-alcohol level was .09. The legal limit in Michigan .08.

↵

ABC 12 in Flint reported that Bell was held in a Genesee County's 67th District Court holding cell on a bond violation until he sobered himself up. Bell's attorney told ABC12 in Flint that Bell takes full responsibility for his actions and is expected back in court on Friday. He was originally arrested in Flint back on Oct. 21 for drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and failure to acknowledge a stop sign.

Bell has played for four NBA teams including the Warriors in seven years since his time at Michigan State. He played in only 19 games for the Warriors in 2010-11, averaging 1.7 points per game, and is now a free agent.

Mark Jackson hasn't even unpacked his bags in Oakland and the W's are already giving him headaches. Insert Jackson catch phrase here.
