According to CSN Bay Area's Matt Steinmetz the Golden State Warriors have offered free agent big man Tyson Chandler a contract for 4-years and around $60 million dollars in an attempt to make a push for the playoffs for the first time since 2007.
With talks with Chris Paul feigning away, the W's have moved their sights to Chandler as their No. 1 priority this offseason, and have been making quite the push to get him. The Warriors hope to have an answer from Chandler's camp on Friday, the first day of free agency. If Golden State knows that have a defensive lynchpin to build around what direction they could go with other moves.
Though one thing is for sure: If they want to sign Chandler they will more than likely have to amnesty center Andris Biedrins, whom they still owe $27 million over the next three years.
Chandler would be an instant upgrade their defense around the rim, one of the most glaring areas of need for the W's. His rebounding on both ends of the court would be very helpful as well, giving guys like Dorrell Wright and Steph Curry second chances on their jumpers.
