Chris Paul Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors Signing Tyson Chandler Boosts Their Chances

The Golden State Warriors don't look like they're messing around here. They have Mark Jackson coming in to lead the team and a new defensive mindset to try and get the team's mentality and direction all turned around. And they might be trying to pursue two players best suited to making those culture changes happen. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports.

Chandler is a free agent who's taking his look around. It looks like his days with the Dallas Mavericks may be over after winning an NBA title. His defensive presence and rebounding were critical to ensuring the Mavs staved off some of the best in the West, and he'd be a great pickup for a Golden State defense that has struggled in both aspects of the game. Golden State seems very interested in signing him up.

Paul would have to be savoring at the prospect of playing with Chandler again; when the two were together and healthy, they nearly got to the Western Conference Finals. Their offense and defense would immediately lift the Warriors into the playoff race, if not making them instant contenders.

There's a lot of hope for optimism if you're a Warriors fan. New ownership, new coach, and potentially big-time players on their way. Definitely a leg up on the old way of doing things.
