Golden State Warriors Won't Sign Kyrylo Fesenko, According to Report

The Golden State Warriors won’t be in need of the services of free agent big man Kyrylo Fesenko after all, according to CSN Bay Area’s Warriors insider Matt Steinmetz.

Fesenko came to the Bay Area Wednesday night to assumedly meet with the team, but according a Warriors spokesperson, the team “decided to go in another direction."

Golden State were looking for some more size and depth behind Andris Biedrins and Kwame Brown at the center position, yet still a good amount of size without him. Fesenko will once again become a free agent after playing the past four seasons for the Utah Jazz. He started one game for them last season and appeared in 53, averaging 2.3 points and 2 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per.

What this ‘other direction’ the team is going is yet to be seen, but they may have simply wanted to keep the rest of their extra cap space for a ‘rainy day.’
