Comcast SportsNet Bay Area To Air Five "Warriors Classics" From 1975 Championship Season

As fans around the globe get ready for the return of NBA action later this month, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will be playing a series of five Classic Golden State Warriors games from their 1975 championship season in hopes of sparking the same outcome in 2012.

These five games will be hosted in-studio by Comcast SportsNet's Greg Papa, along with Warriors legends Rick Barry and Al Attles, with each telecast featuring a unique first-person account of the game from these Warriors legends themselves, sharing their insights on key moments in team history as well.

The first of the "Warriors Classic Games" will be televised on Friday, December 2 at 8 p.m. with the historic game from May 11, 1975 when the Warriors defeated the Chicago Bulls 86-72 in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, setting up a dramatic Game 7 finale.

The following Friday (December 9) at 8 p.m., the network will air Game 7 from May 14, 1975, when in front of a home crowd in Oakland, the Warriors outscored the Bulls 83-79 to earn a trip to the NBA Finals. The series will also include Game 4 of the 1975 NBA Finals, when the Warriors beat the Washington Bullets 96-95 to complete a series sweep and win the NBA championship. The telecast is scheduled to air Friday, December 30 at 8 p.m.
