Rusty Simmons of SFGate.com Warriors blog reports that Stephen Curry is more likely to be ‘doubtful’ than ‘day-to-day’ as he tries to recover from rolling his ankle versus the Los Angeles Clippers. Here are some discouraging words for Warrior fans and fantasy basketball players who snagged him in their first round expecting 20-10-5 stats every night:
“I’m less confident than I was last week, but I don’t want to rule it out,” Curry said. "I’m trying to be as wise as I can and make a smart decision. I realize we’ve got 78 games to go, and I want to make sure it’s 100 percent before I step foot on the floor.
The Warriors desperately need Stephen Curry to initiate the offense. Without Curry’s court vision, the Warriors struggled to get easy buckets in transition and in the paint against the Lakers. The Lakers, of course, are a disciplined team that was clearly prepared for the Warriors game plan with or without Curry. But not having Curry looks like bigs David Lee and Andris Biedrins get less of those easy dump passes for easy layups and dunks.
